Consultation: During a 1-2 hour consultation I provide an overview of a garden's health and appearance and can make recommendations for improvements or necessary changes to bring a garden to its potential.
Landscape Design Service includes the following steps:
- Initial Visit: During this visit I get to know my clients and their garden. I assess the home owners' needs and their garden's status.
- Measurements: It is necessary to take concise measurements and create a base plan for the design.
- Preliminary design: I create a conceptual garden design based on the feedback from the home owners and what is appropriate for their specific location.
- Design presentation: I present a plan view of the conceptual design, provide a list of recommended plants, and show colorful pictures of the plants, garden accessories and construction materials. We discuss any changes. I recommend a landscape contractor to build the new garden.
- Final design: I provide a color rendering of the final design, a planting and construction plan.
- Landscape contractor: I meet with the landscape contractor to discuss the project and to provide a copy of the planting and construction plans. I can also assist with locating the plants.
- Supervise garden installation: This is an optional service; I ensure that the new garden is installed to my design specifications.
Fine Garden Maintenance:
This service is tailored to the individual garden and its owners, and includes quarterly, monthly, semimonthly or weekly visits. I maintain some of my designed gardens as well as those designed by other professionals. I use organic and environmentally friendly methods and do not employ any gas-powered equipment. Lawn care and pruning of large trees are not part of my maintenance service, but I can recommend appropriate professionals.
